Ashland Sustainability Committee
I recently became a high school member of the Ashland Sustainability Committee where we work to make the our town more eco-friendly and keep citizens informed. Read below to learn about the projects and initiatives I am involved in with the Committee
Decarbonization Guide
Decarbonization is the effort to lower the carbon emissions that contribute to climate change. I am working on creating an Ashland Decarbonization Guide to make this process simple and approachable for residents. The goal is to show that decarbonization isn’t only about big policy change; it starts with everyday choices like reducing waste, recycling, and composting. At the same time, major steps such as upgrading heating and cooling systems, shifting to electric alternatives, and improving home energy choices play a key role in cutting emissions and lowering costs over time. This guide is designed to give Ashland residents clear, accessible steps they can take to reduce their carbon footprint and provide them with all the information and sources necessary to apply changes.
Making the Ashland High School More Sustianable
I am leading an initiative with the Sustainability Committee to make Ashland High School greener. Bringing in environmental guest speakers, switching to compostable cutlery, and introducing recycling table tents are central to our mission.
